Mounting the new Funko Pop! Rocks: TLC set with shelves for base stands
Today I unboxed the TLC Funko Pop Rocks! set and put them up on the wall!
Before I opened them up, I knew I was going to need to use my "little bit bigger" shelves as all three of them come with those acrylic bases since their feet are so small. Plus, look at Left Eye's hat! It's enormous!
Those type of pops (small feet, big head) seem to always want to fall over. The base helps, but sometimes they're not designed quite right. So using the bigger shelves is definitely the way to go.
Before putting them up, I had to actually remove a few shelves I already had mounted because these TLC pops were quite a bit taller than I'd made room for. Especially Left Eye's hat! To remove already-hung shelves, I actually just twist them so that the command strip loses its grip on the shelf. Then I can pull the tab of the command strip to stretch it so it stops sticking to the wall - and doesn't destroy the paint - and comes off.
From there, I just hung up the three new, larger floating shelves for pops with a base stand (or big heads) using fresh Command strips. I always use a level when I hang new shelves to make sure they're even with each other and spaced correctly!
The new TLC Funko Pops look great! And you know Daryl from Letterkenny is super happy to see them there ...
This area is going to showcase a few more Pop! Rocks Funkos, including the Snoop Dogg "Doggystyle" album cover and maybe Tupac. I also wanted to get the *NSYNC set, but that thing is pricey so I didn't pull the trigger! And now it's out of stock ...
Oh well, collecting continues ...
