As a pretty enthusiastic MCU fan, I was both pleased and surprised when I saw that my wife found that our local Target had the T'Challa on Throne Funko Pop figure on clearance. For just $8.99, I couldn't resist adding it to my collection.
But as any true collector knows, simply displaying your Funko Pop on a shelf just won't do. No, it needs a proper home, a place of honor. That's where my 3D-printed floating shelf for 6" Funko pops came in.
Now, you may be wondering why T'Challa isn't in his Black Panther suit with this pop. Don't worry, he's still the regal king we know and love, just sitting on his throne in his robes. But let's be real, the Black Panther suit would probably take up too much space on the shelf anyways!! OK, maybe not since it is fancy vibranium ...
But I digress.
For about two seconds, I did think about using my deluxe-size shelves to mount this figure in-box, but I thought "OK this is a cool pop with a cool throne - I wanna see it!" so that went right out the window. But hey, I did think about it! For me, out-of-box wins almost every time.
So, how did I mount this deluxe pop on my floating shelf? With trusty 3M command strips, of course! Now, I know some of you may be wondering if I could have (or should have) just used a screw. Trust me, I considered it. But let's be real, who wants to deal with screws and drills when you have the magic of command strips? Plus, it's a much cleaner look and easy to remove if needed. I just hope he doesn't fall -- if he does, I'll be sure to update this post!
Overall, I'm thrilled with how my T'Challa on Throne Funko Pop looks on its new floating shelf home. It's the perfect addition to my Marvel collection even though I don't have many Black Panther or even Wakanda Forever pops. Plus, I got it on clearance for a steal. Now if only I could make more time to scour Target to find more clearance Funko Pops ...
