I broke my knob the other day too - was crawling from the passenger side to the driver side and kicked the knob. Was AMAZED at how poorly-designed that piece is.
Just to be clear, this fixed the inside of the knob for the TEMPERATURE / CLIMATE CONTROL KNOBS. This will not address the broken radio knob. Anyway, I ended up redesigning a new piece in Fusion 360 and 3D-printing and and reinstalling the knob. It works PERFECTLY and is way stronger than the original.
This is a 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander Temperature Control Knob mount replacement.
***IMPORTANT*** Be sure to put that little D-shaped metal sleeve that goes around the knob post (that was inside the white, broken piece) into this 3D-printed piece. That will help ensure it works well for you and will actually turn the knob post thing. After inserting the metal sleeve, just slide it onto the post, then attach the knob to it.
